film
children of the castle
'Children of the Castle' was shot in 2024 in King John's Castle with great contributions from some of the people who grew up in Castle Barracks in the second part of the 20th century.
Thanks to Dromglen Productions and Crude for delivering this project with The GAFF. This film marks a point in a collective journey, delving deeper into the lived experience of Limerick citizens with heretofore unheard stories about lives lived in unique circumstances in recent and not-so-recent times
We are appreciative of the time given and stories shared by individuals with first-hand memory of a childhood that differs from the norm over many decades.
Special thanks to Southill Hub, Limerick Arts Office, The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon and LACE- Limerick Arts and Culture Exchange, without whom this project would not have been possible.
