Providing a city centre resource for Theatre and Performing Arts in Limerick
Monica Spencer is a community theatre producer, working in the professional arts for thirty years and has held a number of administrative roles as Executive Director of Daghdha Dance Company, Artistic Director of Everyman Palace, Cork and a number of roles in Belltable, Firkin Crane, Cork and Granary Theatre Cork. Festival work includes Make a Move, UnFringed, the Cork Stage of Le Tour de France and Outsiders. She led/participated in a number of projects during Limerick 2014 including Starting with T, Indie Week, The Colleen Bawn Trials and PULSE Theatre Legacy Project. She facilitates community drama in Moyross, St. Mary’s, Novas and in several Limerick Youth Service locations. She holds a BA and a Masters in Festive Arts – both from the University of Limerick. As well as her community work for The GAFF, Monica brings significat experience in fundraising and capital development having delivered the complete refurbishment of Everyman Palace Theatre in 1997 and establishing a city centre home for Daghdha Dance Company (now Dance Limerick) in Limerick in 2003. In both cases, she initiated, fundraised for and delivered on all aspects of building development.
